Merrick's Discord Wiper

Merrick's Discord Wiper is designed to operate locally in your browser. The extension has no developer-operated backend, analytics, telemetry, advertising, or external tracking.

Data the extension handles

When you use the extension, it may process your Discord authorization token, the Discord account and channel information needed to verify the selected location, message data needed to preview and filter your own messages, and the settings you choose in the extension.

Discord message bodies and attachment metadata are read only as needed for filtering. Message content and attachments are not uploaded to Merrick's Discord Wiper, displayed in logs, exported, or persistently stored by the extension. Only eligible message IDs are retained temporarily while a preview or deletion session is active.

Authorization token

Your Discord authorization token is used only to authenticate requests that the extension makes directly to Discord after you request an action. Token saving is off by default.

If you enable Remember token on this device, the token is saved in Chrome extension-local storage so it can be restored later on that browser profile. It is not encrypted by the extension, is not synchronized by the extension, and is not sent to the developer. Use this option only on a device you trust.

How data is used

Data is used only to provide the extension's user-facing features, including locating your messages, applying the filters you selected, previewing eligible message counts, and carrying out deletion requests you explicitly confirm.

Discord API requests are sent directly to https://discord.com/api/v10. The extension does not route Discord data or credentials through a Merrick-operated server.

Data sharing

Merrick's Discord Wiper does not sell user data or share it with advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties. Information is transmitted to Discord only when necessary to perform Discord requests initiated by you.

Local storage and retention

Extension-local storage may contain delay preferences, theme preferences, a channel ID when channel remembering is explicitly enabled, and a Discord authorization token only when token remembering is explicitly enabled. Filters and active preview/deletion state otherwise remain in session memory.

Stopping a session clears its active preview and engine state. The Forget control removes the saved token for that panel and clears its active session. Removing the extension through the browser's extension management page removes its extension-local data.

Permissions

storage is used for local extension preferences and information you explicitly choose to remember.

activeTab and scripting allow the packaged extension interface to activate on the current Discord tab only after you click the extension's toolbar button. Discord pages are not automatically modified when they load.

Host access is limited to Discord's supported web properties and is used for the Discord API requests required by the extension.

Remote code

The extension does not download or execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly. Its executable code is packaged with the extension. Network requests to Discord retrieve data and perform requested actions; they do not load executable extension code.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Merrick's Discord Wiper's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Chrome API data is used only to provide or improve the extension's user-facing functionality. It is not used for personalized advertising, transferred to data brokers, or used to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Discord account risk

Automating a normal Discord user account may violate Discord's rules and can carry account risk. Rate-limit handling and other safeguards do not guarantee account safety. Deleted messages cannot be restored by this extension.

Changes to this policy

If the extension's data practices change, this page will be updated to describe those changes before they are introduced where required.
